Denise Piccone was arrested this week for Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell and Possession of a Deadly Weapon. Piccone was arrested at Arizona Charlie's Hotel and Casino. Police found three bags with a combined weight of slightly more than five (5) grams of methamphetamine, a switchblade knife and $1,900.00 cash in her possession. Piccone is the girlfriend of Dodger Stadium beating suspect Giovanni Ramirez. Ramirez has not been charged in connection with the beating but remains in jail on a Parole Violation.
Nevada drug laws are extremely harsh. Possession of as little as four (4) grams of methamphetamine can lead to drug trafficking charges. In Nevada, drug trafficking is non-probationable – which means that a court cannot place the defendant on probation and instead is required to sentence the offender to a
mandatory prison term.
