Twenty-Eighty (28) year old Dwight Ellick was recently arrested for with Unlawful Sex with a Minor. In Nevada, the age of consent is generally sixteen (16) years old. However, a teacher, school employee or volunteer is still legally prohibited from having even consensual sexual contact with 16 and 17 year old students that attend the school where they work. A teacher who has consensual sexual contact with a 16 or 17 year old student from their school can be punished by up to five (5) years in prison. A teacher who has consensual sexual contact with a 14 or 15 year old student can face up to six (6) years in prison. NRS 201.540. A conviction for sexual conduct with a student may also result the teacher or employee becoming a registered sex offender.
