Rapper 2 Chainz Arrested, Cops Find Guns and Drugs

Approximately two weeks ago rapper, 2 Chainz, and ten people travelling with him on a tour bus were arrested following a concert in Oklahoma City. Police originally stopped the bus for a broken tail light but requested to search the vehicle after they smelled marijuana. 2 Chainz and his crew refused the search and officers impounded the tour bus awaiting a search warrant.

2 Chainz and those travelling with him were arrested for interfering with police officers. Upon a search of the bus officers found drug paraphernalia, marijuana residue, prescription painkillers, and three firearms identified as a semi-automatic Sig Sauer SP2340 pistol, a Mossberg model 500 12-guage pump-action shotgun, and a semi-automatic Glock pistol. Despite the discovery of the guns and drugs, firearms and possession charges have not been filed.

Ownership of firearms is typically legal for most people in Nevada and across the country, however there are a variety of laws and restrictions governing an individual's right to own and possess a firearm. When facing a firearms charge it is vital that an individual has an experienced and knowledgeable attorney fighting for their rights. Attorney Phil Brown of Brown Law Offices is a former chief prosecutor who has handled thousands of firearms cases. Furthermore, he was one of the original founding members of the Clark County District Attorney's Gun Crimes Unit. Mr. Brown can help you navigate your case and develop a sound defense strategy to combat any firearms charges you or a loved one may be facing.

As to 2 Chainz, it seems that drug possession charges may be pursued in addition to firearms charges. Drug possession can be charged even where only residue is recovered. Additionally, possession of prescription drugs is classified, in Nevada, as a Category C Felony punishable by up to five years in prison and fines of, up to, $10,000.00. Charges for possession of illegal drugs and/or prescription medications are serious charges that likely require the assistance of well-qualified legal counsel.
