Johnny Lewis- Sons of Anarchy Star Plummets to His Death

After committing an act of felony assault with a deadly weapon on January 3rd and being forced into rehab following his arrest, Lewis was arrested again on February 10th for a random assault on a man in a yogurt shop. On February 18th, he was arrested a third time for burglary. Following his string of crimes, he was convicted on battery and burglary charges and sentenced to just shy of a year in prison.

Lewis is widely believed to have murdered his eighty-one year old landlord just prior to his death. The twenty-eight year old actor was found dead in the driveway of her house, and it is assumed he fell to his death off the roof.

While we may never know what caused Johnny Lewis to do the things that he did, many people commit criminal acts as a result of untreated mental health and drug issues. These medical conditions can often times cause a person to act in ways in which they would never act while cogent or sober. Drug Court, Mental Health Court and other important programs are sometimes offered as terms of probation. These programs are intensive and may require daily or weekly treatment or classes and usually last a minimum of one year. These programs have significant benefits for the participants who are committed to life-long change. However, if the terms of the specialty court are not met, then the person may be ordered to serve an underlying prison sentence.
