Man Shoots Marijuana Wrapped Arrow at Washington Jail

36-year-old David Wayne Jordan was arrested after officials say he attempted to shoot an arrow wrapped in marijuana on the roof of a Washington jail. Jordan had previously served time at that jail for assault and resisting arrest. It is unclear who the marijuana was intended for.

Employees of the jail say they saw Jordan exit his pickup truck near the property, load an arrow, and shoot it towards the roof of one of the jail's recreation areas. Jordan missed his target and when the arrow was recovered it was found to be wrapped in the marijuana. Police questioned Jordan regarding the incident and he stated he was shooting at a squirrel and was not aware that the arrow also contained marijuana.

Jordan has been arrested for introducing contraband into the jail, resisting arrest, and obstructing law enforcement. It is unclear whether or not he will be charged with possession of marijuana at this juncture.

While you or someone you know likely has not been arrested for marijuana possession in connection with an attempt to shoot it into a prison using an arrow, a charge for any drug offense is still a very serious matter that should be addressed by qualified legal counsel. Nevada has some of the harshest marijuana possession laws in the country and even simple possession can mean jail time and substantial fines.
