Flavor Flav Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Domestic Violence

Flavor Flav, the one-time front man for the immensely popular rap group, Public Enemy, pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence charges in Las Vegas this week. Flav was arrested on felony charges following an October, 2012 incident where he threatened his stepson with a knife during an argument with the boy's mother.

Through his guilty plea, Flav agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge and undergo one-year probation and complete 12 counseling sessions. Always in character, Flav showed up to court wearing his trademark clock necklace, but reportedly hid the necklace/clock under his shirt while he addressed the Court.

Reports indicate that since the 2012 domestic violence incident Flav, his 18-year-old stepson, and his mother have all reconciled and have even attending counseling sessions together. Further, Flav was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is reportedly working on new reality television projects in Las Vegas and other cities.

The facts of Flavor Flav's case suggest that there were serious threats to his stepson's life, thus giving rise to the initial felony domestic violence charges. Reports indicate that Flav credited his criminal defense attorneys for negotiating the plea agreement whereby he would only be required to participate in an informal probation program for twelve months and complete the counseling courses.
